Jyotish MG is the Artistic Director of Abhinaya Theatre Research Centre and has been in the position since the centre’s inception in 1992. He has directed more than 20 plays and has been a part of META before and has won awards in several categories: Best Lighting Design, Best Costume Design, Best Choreography and Best Director.
Jyothish has graduated in Theatre Arts (Direction) from the School Of Drama at the University of Calicut and holds a Master’s Degree in Theatre Arts (Direction) from the University of Pondicherry.
Denzil L Smith
Denzil Smith is a veteran Indian actor and producer. He is known for his stage and screen roles as a character actor and has acted in over 45 plays and 50 films.
He has a long-standing association with both Motley Productions for Waiting For Godot and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, and Primetime Theatre for Guahar, August: Osage County and Sammy. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and The Lunchbox are two of the many films in which Denzil Smith appears.
Veena Bakshi started her career as an assistant to renowned ad filmmakers Prahlad Kakkar, Mansoor Khan And Dilip Ghosh. She then opened her own Ad Film production house where she made over 300 ad films as both producer and director. In 2003, she decided to take the leap into feature films. The Coffin Maker is her first feature film. In 2013, this film won the National for ‘Best English Film’ amongst other national and international awards. Veena Bakshi also teaches film technique at various institutes around India. She is currently working on a Marathi feature film, directing a play, and completing a short film among other things.
Vikram Phukan is a Mumbai-based playwright and stage critic. Since 2011, he has written extensively on theatre in publications like The Hindu, Forbes India, Live Mint, Mumbai Theatre Guide and his own website, Stage Impressions. He is a working committee member of the Indian branch of the International Association Of Theatre Critics, and a faculty member at The Drama School in Mumbai.
