META Perspectives: The Director and Writer – 07/07/07
Director and scriptwriter of 07/07/07, Faezeh Jalili, expresses her feelings about theatre and META.
1. What is your backstage routine before a performance?
A. Usually a quick warm up and a group huddle/ circle.
2. What does META mean to you?
A. The platform for a play like ours, which took 6 months to create, to get recognised.
3. What are you looking forward at META this year?
A. Watching the other META Nominated plays.
4. What is the message you have for the upcoming/struggling actors and directors in theatre?
A. Firstly no one would ever call a banker or a doctor a struggling doctor/banker. So honestly using struggling before actor is very derogatory.
I don’t think I’m bigger or smaller than anyone so I have no words of wisdom.What I live by is ” Do what you love, and love what you do.”
