The team of Moment Just Before Death are a bunch of young boys from Kerala in their early twenties; sprightly, curly-haired and equipped with an infectious energy so full of life, it was in stark contrast to the morbid melancholy that was so beautifully portrayed on stage. Traipsing across stage as a young man and an old one with equal ease, Manoj Omen was quite spectacular, carrying the play almost entirely by himself. The transitions were fabulously executed; the flashbacks in particular were a joy to watch. The music and lighting were a crucial part in the consummation of this piece.

For such a young man, director Liju Krishnas portrayal of the anticipation of death was way ahead of his 23 years. Starting with the death of his mother at the time of his birth, through the death of his father and his love, an old man recounts his life story as he is surrounded by death and ends up spending his life waiting for that final moment. He builds himself a coffin too and prepares himself for the eventuality of his own death.

On theatre
This is my passion, I love my job. Ive been at it for around 7 years now and I just want to keep going on. Theatre has always been popular in Kerala. I have the wholehearted support of my family.

On META
Its a great inspiration for people in theatre. We are having a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoying ourselves. We have watched some plays this week and hope to catch as many as we can. This is a great platform for young people looking to make their mark.
