"KANDO NINGAL ENTE KUTTIYE KANDO" – ( " Have you seen my Son? " )
25th June 1975 was a dark day. It was the day when the then Prime Minister declared a state of emergency in India. During the 21 months of that period, countless people became martyrs. In Kerala, one such martyr of that oppressive regime was Rajan. The play portrays the historical truths uncovered during the final days of the struggle led by Professor T.V. Eachara Warrier—a teacher, writer, and civil rights activist—in his quest to bring to justice those responsible for Rajan’s death.

In our play “Kando Ningal Ende Kuttiye Kando”, Eswara Warrier asks, why we are not able to understand our children. Who are they? What are their dreams? He wonders why parents are not able to understand their children? The play was developed from an incident happened during the emergency period. In the country, orphaned elderly people who have lost their children are being pushed towards death by society...
However, audiences would be able to feel the emotion of helpless father who lost his son due to the cruelty by the policemen and the governing body, during the time of the emergency. The play is combination of emotions such as love, compassion, wilderness and pain. The play could possibly take the audiences to the political environment of Kerala in 1975 emergency period.
